Bank of America reports that the extensive outage is almost resolved.
On Wednesday, Bank of America customers experienced difficulties accessing their bank accounts, but the bank has indicated that the issue has mostly been resolved.
Reports of the outage surged around 12:45 PM ET on Downdetector, a platform that tracks service disruptions.
Numerous customers expressed frustration over being unable to view their account balances, while some who managed to log in were surprised to see their balances listed as zero.
In a statement to CNN, Bank of America acknowledged that “some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts and balance information today.”

The bank added, “These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
However, Bank of America did not disclose the cause of the outage, and it remains unclear when all systems will return to normal functionality.
Several CNN staff members with Bank of America accounts reported they could not log in on Wednesday afternoon. One customer received a message indicating that the balance for one or more accounts “may be temporarily unavailable.”
One Bank of America user on Downdetector commented, “Five accounts show zero balance, over 20K.”
Another mentioned that he was unable to log in while his wife could, but her accounts displayed no balance. “Shows my debt just fine tho,” another user quipped.
