Sukumar’s Telugu hit Pushpa 2: The Rule refuses to break its record-bashing spree at the box office. According to Taran Adarsh film trade analyst, this one is the first Allu Arjun starrer to cross ₹700 cr in the Indian market breaking the domestic box office trend. Here’s a rundown of the trailblazers that defined and widened India’s box office milestones :

Ghajini – ₹100 Crore Milestone:
AR Murugadoss’ 2008 action-revenge thriller Ghajini, starring Aamir Khan and Asin, was the first Hindi film to breach the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office. This Hindi remake of the Tamil hit set the standard for blockbuster success. Until then, Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om (2007) starring Shah Rukh Khan had reached ₹90 crore, followed by Vipul Shah’s Singh Is Kinng (2008), starring Akshay Kumar.

3 Idiots – ₹200 Crore Milestone Aamir Khan once again delivered a box office hit in 2010 with 3 Idiots, which made him the first Hindi movie to gross ₹200 crores in India.
