Virat Kohli once again showed his match winning form and gave RCB another chase win in IPL 2025, this time against Punjab Kings. Kohli scored an unbeaten 73 runs and his partnership with Devdutt Padikkal (61 runs) helped RCB to win by 7 wickets. RCB has won all the away matches they have played, and this was their 5th consecutive away win. Now RCB have come to the 3rd position. Whereas this is the first loss for Punjab Kings after back to back wins.

Turning Point of the Match: Difference of Spin in Middle Overs

The biggest difference of the match was the performance of both teams against spin in middle overs:
PBKS lost 5 wickets from 6th to 15th overs.
RCB lost only one wicket and maintained the run rate during that period.

Innings of Punjab Kings – 157/6

Powerplay was 62/1. In which Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya gave an aggressive start. But Krunal Pandya broke the momentum by dismissing Arya.

Middle Overs was 57/5. This was the turning point of the match, because Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma collapsed the middle order of PBKS. Inglis and Shashank Singh resisted a bit, but Suyash got both the set players out and put PBKS back in front.

Death Overs 38/0. Marco Jansen took two wickets, but late. But Hazelwood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar stopped the run flow from your bowlers.

RCB made 54/1 in Powerplay. Phil Salt got out in the first over, but Padikkal and Kohli kept the run rate high with smart batting. Kohli played some good shots and kept the momentum.

Middle Overs min 68/1. Kohli and Padikkal’s 103-run partnership made the chase easy. Adikkal scored fifty in 30 balls and kept getting boundaries against Stoinis and Bartlett and there was never any run pressure.

Death Overs were 37/1. Kohli finished with sixes. Rajat Patidar and later Jitesh Sharma also supported. Jitesh finished the match by hitting a towering six.
