A brief storm in Mid-Michigan has resulted in significant damage.

Intense storms that struck Mid-Michigan on Tuesday afternoon caused extensive damage, including uprooted trees, fallen power lines, and damaged homes.

“It appeared suddenly. It was complete chaos,” remarked Kirk Martinez, a resident of St. Johns.

According to the Lansing Fire Department, they handled at least 39 weather-related emergencies.

The storms led to dangerous traffic conditions and widespread power outages. Some residents remain without electricity as utility crews work to address the damage.

“Our customers can be confident that no one will leave until power is restored,” stated Dick Peffley, General Manager of the Lansing Board of Water and Light.

As of Tuesday, there have been no reports of injuries from the storms.
