AI-Hilal stopped again, lost the title race|

A tremendous match took place in Dammam, but fans of AI-Hilal were not happy, they were filled with frustration. After drawing 1-1 with defending champions Ettifaq, Kanuka’s dream of winning the title has become even more difficult.

Back in the title race

AI-Hilal is now 7 points behind league leaders AI-Ittihad. And only 7 matches are left, while only 3 wins have been achieved in the last 9 games. This is a big shock for the team and coach Jorge Jesus.

First Half: Ettifaq’s Dumdaar Start

Ettifaq made its name in the first half of the match. Gini Wijnaldum controlled the game in the midfield. Just before half time, Joao Costa scored a stunning long range goal from a dum top corner and the 20 year old Costa impressed everyone.

Second Half: AI Hilal’s Comeback

After half time AI – Hilal started coming back with aggression. Mitrovic scored an early shot but the goalkeeper saved it and finally the equaliser came in the 57th minute. Milinkovic Savic passed to Renan Lodi and Lodi cut the ball back and Malcom scored with a powerful shot to make it 1-1.

Missed Chances And Frustration

Marcos Leonardo missed the ball on another chance just close to the goal post. Kaio Cesar’s shot was also blocked. During the injury time Abdullah AI-Hamdan’s flying header went over the goal and that was the last big chance and the match ended 1-1. This was a valuable point of disappointment and purpose for AI-Hilal.

AI – Ahli’s Solid Victory

Before this AI-Ahli had defeated AI-Red 2-0: Franck Kessie scored the first goal from a penalty. Gabri Veiga, who came back after injury, sealed the match by scoring a goal in the second half. Now AI-Ahli has come to the 4th position.

Is AI-Hilal still in the title race?

AI-Hilal still have time, but they must win every match now. Fans need a miracle now.
