AIADMK and BJP alliance returns – 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections game begins|

PM also attacked DMK government and said: “DMK is a corrupt and divisive party. For Tamil culture and development, it is necessary to remove them.”
Amit Shah’s Chennai visit and press meet
Amit Shah, who is the Union Home Minister of India, held a press conference in Chennai where he announced: Assembly election 2026 will be won under the leadership of AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami. National level leadership will be in the hands of Modi ji. Shah said, “There is a lot of corruption in DMK government – liquor scam, sand mining scam, transport scam, and many more.”

Palaniswami thanked Modi Ji for the alliance and said, “We will work together with NDA for the progress of Tamil Nadu. This partnership will fulfill the aspirations of the people of the state.”
DMK’s response: “This is a betrayal”
DMK MP Kanimozhi called AIADMK’s decision to join hands with Tamil Nadu a “big betrayal” and said, “People will answer this betrayal in the elections.” And also criticized Palaniswami for “remaining silent” during the race conference.
