Announcement of immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Trump said “we mediated”|

Donald Trump made a big announcement saying that his team has mediated to get “full and immediate ceasefire” done between India and Pakistan after a long night of discussions. Shortly after this, New Delhi confirmed in a short statement that ceasefire has been done between both the countries.
Director Generals of Ministerial Operations (DGMOs) of both sides have decided that from 5 o’clock firing and military action will be stopped on land, air and sea routes, this was told to the media by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
He further added, “Military commanders of both sides have been given instructions to implement this understanding. The next meeting of DGMOs will be held on 12 May at 12 noon.”
According to India’s statement, Pakistan’s DGMO had initiated the first call after which discussions took place and this agreement was finalized. India also clarified that there is no plan to discuss any other issue anywhere else as of now.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also confirmed this development on Twitter and wrote: “Today India and Pakistan have successfully reached an understanding on stopping firing and military action. India has always taken a strong and clear stance against terrorism and will continue to do so.”
Soon after this, US President Donald Trump informed about this breakthrough, after which Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that he and Vice President JD Vance had talked to the top leaders of both countries in the last 48 hours.

We are delighted that both governments have decided to immediately ceasefire and begin wide-ranging negotiations on a neutral location. We salute the vision, understanding and statesmanship of PM Modi and PM Sharif in choosing the path to peace.”
