Australia’s competitiveness is such that all 11 players are aligned, said Virat Kohli in anticipation of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
New Delhi: As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 approaches, featuring a face-off between India and Australia, seasoned batsman Virat Kohli shared insights into Australia’s mindset when it comes to the longest format of cricket.
The series is set to kick off on November 22, with the first Test scheduled to take place in Perth.
Over the years, India has established a dominant position against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. India has secured victories in the last four consecutive series, including two wins on Australian soil during the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons.

As a result, India has become the more successful team in this contest, having won the BGT 10 times compared to Australia’s five, with the latter’s most recent series victory occurring in the 2014-15 season. Australia last triumphed in India during the 2004-05 series.
“I believe I understand their mindset well; they are incredibly competitive, with all 11 players aligned in their approach, knowing exactly what to do and when to do it. Witnessing this drives my motivation as their awareness and skill set are so impressive that I feel compelled to elevate my own game to overcome them,” Kohli stated in a video shared by Star Sports on Instagram.
The second Test is set to take place from December 6 to 10 at Adelaide Oval and will showcase the thrilling day-night format under the stadium’s lights. Following this, fans will shift their focus to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test, scheduled for December 14 to 18.
The series will reach its penultimate stage with the traditional Boxing Day Test, which will be held from December 26 to 30 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The fifth and final Test will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, serving as the climax of the series and promising a thrilling conclusion to an exciting contest.
