Chhorii 2 OTT Release: Nushrratt Bharuccha back in horror mood, April 11 on Amazon Prime Video|
Director Vishal Furia is back with the sequel to his spine chilling horror franchise Chhorii. Nushrratt Bharuccha will be in the lead role of Chhorii 2 again, and this movie will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 11 April 2025.
Chhori 2 – Horror + Social Message Combo
Director Vishal Furia says that the story of Chhorii started when he was writing his Marathi horror film Lapachhapi. At that time he read the shocking statistics of female infanticide (killing girls before or after birth), and was shocked by these data.
He said: “I was writing a horror story, and that social issue came organically in it. When I read the stats, it scared me more than the horror.”
Why horror?
Furia believes that the horror genre is the best for showing such sensitive topics, because its impact is long.

What’s new in Chhorii 2?
Vishal Furia says that a new social evil has been shown in the second part too, which is related to women.
“There are many other social rituals and practices in India which are wrong. Chhorii 2 will explore one more issue from that.”

He says that he likes the creative process of horror a lot – creating a scary atmosphere and designing eerie characters. Working on technical things like sound, lights, shots, camera angles.
“I like creating a horror world. When all the elements come together – writing, direction, sound – real horror is created.”
Wants to make comedy in future too
Vishal doesn’t only want to become a horror director. He said that he wants to explore the comedy genre as well.
“These days good comedy films are not being made in Bollywood. So I want to try something new”
Complaint of being typecast in Bollywood
Vishal also told that he is mostly approached for horror or thriller projects, and rarely gets chances in other genres.
“People see me only as a horror director. They do not consider me for comedy, fantasy, or biographies. But I am ready to work in every genre.”
