Earth Day: A lovely message in the name of our planet|

Every year on 22 April the whole world celebrates Earth Day – a day that inspires us to think and do something about environmental issues. This day reminds us that we have a beautiful planet – taking care of which is not only necessary but also our responsibility.
Earth Day: A small beginning, a big milestone
The first time Earth Day was celebrated was in 1970. At that time factories were spreading pollution without any hindrance. Smoke and dirty water were normal things and people considered it a sign of prosperity, especially in America. But a big oil spill happened in California, which woke people up.
Senator Gaylord Nelson decided that a day should be dedicated to the environment where people get educated and take action. He organized rallies and demonstrations along with activist Denis Hayes. 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day and demanded cleaner air, water, and environment. Today Earth Day is celebrated in 190+ countries.
