On March 10, 2025, Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) experienced a major global outage. Due to this outage, thousands of users around the world could not access the platform, and this problem was also felt in regions like United States, India, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

Outage Time and Scale:

The outage started around 3:20 PM IST, as reported by Downdetector (a platform that tracks website and service outages).

At peak time, more than 19,000 users globally reported issues on the platform.

Problems included no access to X’s mobile app and website, and login issues.

Experience in the US and Other Regions:

United States: 58% users had problems with the X app, 31% had no website access, and 11% had trouble logging in.

Similar issues were reported in other regions as well, and frustrated users expressed their feelings on other social media platforms.

Impact of outage in India:

The impact in India was comparatively less, but still noticeable.

Downdetector India recorded around 2,600 complaints during peak time.

Issues of Indian Users:

80% users had trouble accessing the X website.

11% users had login issues.

9% users reported problems in the mobile app.

X’s Response:

So far X has not released any official statement explaining the reason for the outage. But now the platform’s services have become normal.

Outage Related Concerns:

This outage has become a concern for users and tech experts, as X’s real-time information sharing is very important.

Due to the platform’s large user base, the impact of such outages is also greater.
