Introduction of DLS method:
Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis created this method in 1997, which is used to set revised targets in rain-affected matches.
In 2014 it was updated by Steven Stern and named as DLS method.

How does DLS method work?
When there are fewer overs in a match due to rain, then the revised target of the chasing team is calculated using DLS method.
This method converts balls and wickets into percentage of resources remaining.
Example: If there are 50 overs and 10 wickets available, then 100% resources are available.
