IPL 2025 Game 53: KKR defeated Rajasthan Royals by 1 run, Riyan Parag’s tremendous innings also did not work|
In the 53rd match of IPL 2025, Kolkata played in Eden Gardens, where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced Rajasthan Royals. KKR batted first and scored 206/4 in 20 overs.
KKR batting:
Sunil Narine got out after scoring only 11 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz made a good partnership of 35 runs and Ajinkya Rahane 30, Angkrish Raghuvanshi 44. Andre Russell set fireworks in the last over, and scored 57 runs* in 25 balls. Rajasthan bowlers Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, Mahesh Theekshana, and Riyan Parag took one wicket each.
RR batting:
RR who came out to chase had a bad start. Vaibhav Suryavanshi got out after scoring only 4 runs. Dhruv Jurel was dismissed by Varun Chakraborty on a golden duck. But Yashavi Jaiswal scored 34 runs in 21 balls and Parag played an innings of 95 runs in 45 balls. Hetmyer also scored 29 runs, but the rest of the batsmen failed. RR needed some runs in the last over to win, but Jofra Archer got run out on the last ball and KKR won the match by 1 run.

Performance of KKR bowlers:
Varun, Harshit Rana, and Moeen Ali took 2-2 wickets and Vaibhav Arora took 1 wicket. With this win, KKR has kept its playoff hopes alive. The match was quite thrilling, in which even Riyan Parag’s outstanding innings could not give victory to Rajasthan.
