Ishan Kishan’s Unexpected Appearance in the Duleep Trophy Leaves Fans Confused.
Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan unexpectedly played for India C in the second round of the Duleep Trophy against India B at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur on Thursday. Kishan had missed the first round of the Duleep Trophy matches due to a groin injury he sustained while representing Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament. Although the Indian squad for the first Test against Bangladesh was announced, and several changes were made to the Duleep Trophy squads, Kishan’s inclusion was not mentioned, which surprised fans when he was named in the India C lineup against India B.
Initially, Kishan was a part of the India D squad, but after missing the first round of matches, Sanju Samson replaced him. Fans were further confused because the BCCI’s media release stated that no changes had been made to the India C squad.
The squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy, starting on September 12, were announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday. Star players like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav were excluded.
