Jaat Review: Sunny Paaji’s Five kilos are now playing in the South|

What will you say about a film where the audience does not stop applauding and watching? As much as the trailer of Sunny Deol and Randy Hooda’s film Jaat was explosive, the film turned out to be even more action-loaded than that.

Action + Emotion = Perfect South Style Drama

Director Gopichand Malineni has proved that Jaat is not just a star-powered action film, this film comes with a solid story, strong performances and balanced emotions. After the failure of Sikandar, Jaat shines from there.

Sunny Deol – Mass Maharaja in Full Form

Calm in real life, like a lioness in reel life, whenever Sunny Paaji comes on screen, goosebumps are guaranteed. Whether it is to make the villains fly in the air or to destroy an entire infrastructure, the theatre shakes on hearing his “OYE”.

And when he says – “The North has already seen the power of this dhai kilo ke haath, now the South will see it..” the audience literally whistles loudly. The combo of top action scenes of South and Deol sir’s energy is literally fire.

Randeep Hooda – A Dangerous Villain

Randeep Hooda has played the role of Ranatunga in a tremendous way. From a Sri Lankan terrorist to becoming the gang boss of villages in Andhra – his cold blooded style is worth watching. Threats and that creepy cuckoo sound – everything is villainous AF. Vineet Kumar Singh is also good in the role of the brother, but sometimes it becomes over the top.

Female Characters – Missed Opportunity

Regina Cassandra has done a dark role as the villain’s wife. She has done a pretty good job. But Sayami Kher as an Olice Officer was a bit disappointing. And Urvashi Rautela’s song… honestly, nothing new felt impactful.

Graphic Scenes Alert

The violence lever in the film is good – cut sir, bullets, torture, everything is good. If you are sensitive then it may seem a little heavy. And negative point – some unusual dialogues like “chudiyaan pehni hai kya?” do not feel good to hear. Directors should work on this.

Smart Writing + Fast Pace

The simple apology of the idli plate falling down is shown throughout the film which is some clever writing. Flashback and non-linear storytelling make the film engaging. This movie does not get boring even after having a runtime of 2 hours 40 minutes. In the first half.

Monologues + Ramayan Vibe = Sunny Nostalgia

Sunny Deol’s Gadar-Border Ghayal Style monologues are also there. His introduction in the background of Ramayan theme and singing of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ saw a total mass entry.
