Jack Grealish scored an emotional goal in the name of his younger brother|

Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish scored his first Premier League goal after almost 16 months and dedicated it to his younger brother Keelan, who passed away 25 years ago on this day.
Grealish’s brother Keelan was just 9 months old when he died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Jack was just 4 years old at that time.
Special Moment at Etihad Stadium
Grealish scored a goal in just the 2nd minute against Leicester, and City won the match 2-0. At first it seemed that he was just celebrating a rare start, but after the match he shared an emotional reason. “25 years ago today my younger brother died. This day is always difficult for our family,” Grealish told SKY Sports. Later, Grealish also paid tribute on Instagram: “Always with me, especially today… it was for you.”
Pep Guardiola’s Reaction
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola realised after the match how special this day was for Grealish. “Jack is a really nice guy who is generous and caring,” Guardiola said. “I didn’t know it was an anniversary but it was nice to see him remember his brother.” Grealish’s younger sister has been affected by cerebral palsy and he has a strong emotional bond with his family.
What will happen to Grealish’s future?
Grealish has been given the chance to play in the No. 10 position thanks to the rest of Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne. City have rested several key players ahead of the Manchester derby, which takes place at Old Trafford on Sunday. City will now play for at least 5 weeks without their star striker Erling Haaland, who is injured. It remains to be seen in the coming times whether Grealish will be able to make a regular spot in the team or not, as the guard is preparing to bring in new players.
Final Thoughts
This goal of Grealish was not just a football moment, but a heart-touching tribute to his younger brother Keelan.
