“Jasprit Bumrah ‘on the border of fracture’: BCCI gives warning, out of IPL till now”|

The first two rounds of IPL 2025 have ended, but there is no news of Jasprit Bumrah till now. This fast bowler has not been in action since January, when he suffered a back injury during the Australia Tour. Due to this, he has missed the India vs England Test Series, Champions Trophy, and till now it is also not clear when he will return for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025.
Immediately after IPL 2025 which will end in the last week of May, the Indian cricket team will go to England for an important Test series which will start from the third week of June.
Former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond, who has worked with Bumrah in Mumbai Indians and is now with Rajasthan Royals, says that Bumrah should not be put under too much load, like it was done during the Australia tour.
When he was asked if Bumrah should change his bowling style, Bond said: “I don’t think so. He has undergone surgery (2023), yet he played the Australia Test series and gave an amazing performance. But during one month he bowled a lot. It is good that his injury has not reached the stage of fracture but it is on the borderline.”
“India should learn that if they do the same in the 5-Test match series in England, then the same result will be achieved. You cannot put the entire load on a single bowler. You need a good squad in which you can rotate. Because if you lose him, then there is also T20 World Cup, 50-over World Cup, and he is an important player in every format. There is also IPL, so it is important to keep in mind his availability.”
Bond also said that Bumrah had bowled 151.2 overs during the 5 Test matches in Australia, which became the reason for his injury.
“In Australia, he got injured just because he bowled too many overs. His performance was amazing, but he was burdened with too much. I feel he bowled 50 overs in a Test match. Injuries cannot be avoided, but we can definitely reduce them. And I hope Bumrah will be able to avoid another big injury.”
“And the most important thing is that he should not be given so many overs in a Test match. A maximum load of 45 overs is manageable, it would not be right to take more risk than that. I am sure that the Indian team management will also be paying attention to this thing and will try to avoid the mistakes that have already happened. Bumrah is a professional, who does everything correctly. We can only ensure that his injury does not become more serious.”
