US Election Results: Donald Trump Clinches Victory with Strong Wins in Key Swing States
Donald Trump has emerged as the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, achieving a decisive lead in several pivotal swing states. U.S. media outlets have confirmed Trump’s victory. The intensely divisive campaign was marked by two reported assassination attempts targeting Trump. His opponent, Kamala Harris, garnered 224 electoral votes, while Trump reached the critical majority of 270. This win makes Trump the second Republican in the past two decades to secure a second term, following George W. Bush’s presidency from 2001 to 2009.
Regarding swing states, Trump has already secured wins in Georgia and North Carolina and is leading in five others: Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
Ahead of Election Day, Trump indicated he would accept a loss if the election was “fair” but reiterated his concerns about the reliability of electronic voting machines. Nonetheless, after casting his ballot in Florida, he expressed confidence in reclaiming the White House, marking one of the most fiercely contested elections in recent U.S. history.
US Election Results: At 78, Donald Trump Becomes Oldest-Elected President in US History
Donald Trump, who transitioned from a career as a businessman, real estate mogul, and reality TV star to the White House, has now become the first former U.S. President with a felony conviction to be re-elected.
Despite enduring two assassination attempts during his 2024 campaign, the 78-year-old prevailed, earning a second term with the support of American voters. In doing so, he thwarted the Democratic Party’s aspirations—and the hopes of Kamala Harris’s supporters—for the nation’s first female president.
Trump’s win establishes him as the oldest person ever elected to the U.S. presidency.
