Manchester City made their Champions League qualification mission even stronger by beating Everton 2-0, while Aston Villa defeated Newcastle 4-1.

Manchester City’s late comeback

City looked set for a draw for quite some time, but Nico O’Reilly’s 84th minute goal put the team on the path to victory. Mateo Kovacic scored another goal in the injury time to make the final score 2-0. City are now in 4th position in the points table and only 1 point ahead of Aston Villa, whose next match is also against City – on Tuesday.

Villa’s Comeback Show

Aston Villa made a stunning comeback after being eliminated from the Champions League. They won 4-1 against Newcastle. This is their 5th win. Now Villa are just 2 points behind 3rd placed Newcastle, and 5 matches are still left.

Southampton’s Last Minute Equaliser

Southampton avoided an interesting record by drawing 1-1 against West Ham. Jarrod Bowen scored in the 47th minute to give West Ham the lead. And Lesley Ugochukwu equalised in injury time to ensure his team did not have the lowest points total in Premier League history. Southampton have 11 points, the same as Derby.

Brentford’s Bright Win, Brighton’s Hopes Down

Bryan Mbeumo scored two goals to give Brentford a 4-2 win over Brighton. Brighton also picked up a red card, damaging their hopes of European qualification.
