Mohali court sentenced self-styled pastor Bajinder Singh to life imprisonment in a rape case. This case is of 2018, when a woman had filed a police complaint against him in Zirakpur. The victim expressed happiness over the court’s decision and thanked the judiciary.

After hearing the court’s decision, the victim said:
“I am very happy. I thank the judge and my advocate. I got justice. Thanks to the media too, but my condition is not good yet, I will interview everyone later.”
What charges were leveled against Pastor Bajinder Singh?
Bajinder Singh was convicted last week, and the following sections were imposed against him:
Section 376 – Rape
Section 323 – Assault and taking to court
Section 506 – Crime of threatening
20 years sentence was demanded, but got Life Imprisonment
Before the verdict, the victim had demanded a minimum sentence of 20 years.
She said, “Who knows the law well and commits crimes knowingly. I want more women to come forward and tell the truth. There is no need to be afraid.”
Statement of Advocate – “This is a lesson for those people who cheat people by becoming religious leaders.”
Victim’s advocate Anil Sagar said:
“Who was famous as a spiritual leader. People used to call him ‘Pape ji’. When such people commit such a crime, they should get some punishment. We are satisfied with the court. Now he will have to stay in jail till his last breath.”
