MS Dhoni tried his best to win – but CSK got a heartbreak|

Monday’s match of IPL 2025 became an emotional rollercoaster – especially for those fans who win on every shot of MS Dhoni. But this time also cricket has taught us – sometimes despite the efforts the result slips out of our hands.

Drama of the final over – Dhoni vs Yash Thakur

Chennai Super Kings needed 28 runs in the last over. Everyone’s hope was on MS Dhoni who had hit 27 runs off 12 balls till then – with a four and three tremendous sixes. But Yash Thakur ended their game on the very first ball – Dhoni hit a shot straight into Yuzendra Chahal’s hands at short fine leg on a low full toss ball. The despair on his face said it all. CSK lost the match by 18 runs.

“well played, MS Dhoni” – fans’ love flooded in on social media. The legend had raised hopes even at the age of 43.

Priyansh Arya – New star for Punjab Kings

The breakout star of this match was rookie opener Priyansh Arya, who scored 103 runs in just 42 balls. Punjab kings lost 5 wickets in the start of the match within 8 overs, and Priyansh single-handedly took the team to 219/6 – which became the highest total on this ground.

CSK chase – Efforts were good, but not enough

CSK’s batting order did show some fight this time:

Devon Conway: 69* (retired out)
Rachin Ravindra: 36 off 23
Shivam Dube: 42 off 27
MS Dhoni: 27 off 12
Punjab dropped 4 catches in fielding but still won.

Dhoni = Hope, even in defeat

MS Dhoni once again showed that cricket is not just a game of runs, it is also about emotions. Crowd won in every shot, love was found in every expression. Even at the age of 43, fans have the same hope – and who goes back every time doing something special.
