New Zealand won the second ODI played in Hamilton by 84 runs, and with this, they also won the three-match series! Pakistan had to face this bad defeat due to the amazing batting performance of Mitchell Hay and 5 wickets of Ben Sears.

Mitchell Hay did a great job!

New Zealand’s batting was going a bit slow, but Mitchell Hay took the team to 292/8 by hitting Mohammad Wasim for 22 runs in the last over! Hay scored 99 runs in 78 balls* (missed the century by just one run)

Muhammad Abbas also contributed 41 runs

The top order made a good start but could not make any big score

Pakistan’s batting fell apart!

Pakistan did not start the chase well, and their score was 32 runs and they lost 5 wickets.

New Zealand pace bowlers bowled brilliantly:

Ben Sears – 5 wickets (5-59)

Jacob Duffy – 3 wickets (3-35)

Will O’Rourke – 1 wicket (1-19)

Pakistan’s Harish Rauf had to undergo a concussion check after a ball hit his helmet, but Naseem Shah (51 runs) and Faheem Ashraf (73 runs) fought a bit for the team. But in the end Pakistan were all out for just 208 runs (in 41.2 overs).

New Zealand’s brilliant form!

New Zealand won the first ODI by 73 runs (due to Mark Chapman’s 132 runs and Nathan Smith’s 4 wickets)
New Zealand won the T20 series by 4-1
Now the third and final ODI will be played on Saturday in Mount Maunganui. Will Pakistan be able to save its honour by winning a match or will New Zealand do a clean sweep?
