Pep Guardiola’s passion: Massive celebration of Matheus Nunes’ late winner|

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola described his celebration after Matheus Nunes’ stoppage time goal as “amazing“, according to him, late winners are more a trademark of their Premier League rivals Liverpool.
On Tuesday, City beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Etihad Stadium, with Nunes scoring the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Immediately after the goal, Guardiola celebrated with a massive fist pumping dance and a primal roar, the significance of the victory was clear.
“It’s that Liverpool feeling”
Guardiola said: “We are not used to late goals like that. Liverpool does it more, or Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. We are not used to it, so I am very happy.” After City’s win, they now own a top-five finish and the dream of Champions League qualification is still alive.
Nunes’ first goal, and the most important
Bernardo Silva had scored the first goal for City, but Marcus Rashford equalised for Aston Villa with a controversial VAR penalty. Guardiola was furious with the penalty decision and further shouted at the official and was also given a yellow card. Then, Nunes changed things by scoring from a tight angle and brought a rare uplifting moment of the season for City.
Guardiola said: “The season has been bad so far. But this win means a lot. We are still Champions League contenders.”
