Pranav Mohanlal is reportedly working on a farm in Spain, trading his labor for food instead of pursuing acting, according to his mother, Suchitra.
Actor Pranav Mohanlal, son of renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal and producer Suchitra, has shown a passion for travel on his Instagram, where he frequently shares photos, videos, and stories from his journeys. In an interview with FTQ with Rekha Menon, Suchitra shared that Pranav is currently living a laid-back life in Spain, taking time off from acting. She revealed that instead of acting, Pranav is working on a farm in exchange for food and accommodation. “Appu (as she calls him) is in Spain working on a farm, taking care of horses and lambs. There’s no money involved, just food and lodging. It’s a valuable experience for him,” Suchitra explained.
While Pranav remains interested in acting, Suchitra noted that he is very selective about the roles he chooses, preferring to take his time with his projects. “He does one film every two years, and I encourage him to take on at least two films annually. But I realize he’s trying to strike a balance,” she said. She also expressed that she has no desire for Pranav to act alongside his father, Mohanlal, as it might lead to unnecessary comparisons.
Pranav began his acting journey as a child artist in his father’s 2002 film Onnaman and won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in Punarjani (2003). In 2005, he worked as an assistant director for the Tamil film Papanasam and the Malayalam film Life of Josutty. He made his debut as a lead actor in 2018 with Aadhi, and his performance in the 2022 film Hridayam gained him recognition outside Kerala. This year, he starred in Varshangalkku Shesham alongside Dhyan Sreenivasan.
