PUBG & BGMI Wala Krafton in Trouble Again – Big Accusation of Data Leak|

Krafton, the company that makes the popular game BGMI (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA), has once again come into controversy. A man from Maharashtra has filed a police complaint against them, in which there are allegations of – leaking user data and escaping on Telegram.
BGMI was created after privacy concerns
BGMI is basically the replacement of PUBG in India. When PUBG Mobile was made in India, BGMI came to India due to privacy issues. Then Krafton launched BGMI and promised that everything will be according to Indian rules. But now again questions have arisen on user privacy.
Was data being sold for Rs 2000?
According to that person, Krafton sold personal data of users like name, contact info, etc. to individuals for just Rs 2000 – without anyone’s permission. And the data was allegedly sold through the Telegram app. Santosh Torane who had complained said that he had raised his voice on this issue earlier also, but no one listened. Now Bombay High Court has taken the case seriously, and the next hearing is going to be held on 15 April 2025.
Who all are in the FIR?
The FIR names some senior executives like:
wooYol Lim
Jitendra Bansal
Yoonal Soni
Wooyol Shalom
Krafton’s Reaction
Krafton has denied the allegations. They said: “At KRAFTON, safety of personal data is our priority. The case is in court, so we will not comment much right now.”
Telegram is also in trouble
The Telegram app has been accused of selling data. Earlier also, there have been cases of sharing pirated content on Telegram, because large size files are easily shared here.
Big Question of Data Privacy
This whole case again raises a big question: Are gaming companies really keeping users’ data safe? People trust big brands like Krafton, but if such allegations turn out to be true, their credibility can be greatly damaged.
