RCB defeated RR in a one-sided match – Salt and Kohli’s Dhamaka|

An interesting clash of IPL 2025 took place between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Both the teams played with completely different strategies. RCB’s full focus was aggressive batting but RR is still playing with conservative thinking. And RCB easily won the target by 9 wickets.
Phil Salt’s Power Hitting
Phil Salt only thought about boundaries and did the same. Salt scored 65 runs in 32 balls, of which 11 were boundaries. Salt’s approach was to hit every ball from the leg side or above mid-off. And against Jofra Archer, he batted with planning, as both have known each other for quite some time.
He smartly hit a small boundary target leg side against Archer, off side against Sandeep Sharma. He showed smartness along with power, which is why RCB scored 65 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket, while RR could only score 45.
Classy knock by Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 75 runs for RR in just 47 balls – that too on a pitch which was slow. Jaiswal played shots in every direction and looked more dangerous against the spinners. All types of shorts like reverse sweep, leap sweep are in his shot selection. But the other batsmen along with him were the ones who could score only 47 runs in 49 balls. No other player can be called like Jaiswal.
RR’s problems – conservative game and fielding errors
RR’s middle order was seen struggling. Sanju Samson also did not play well today and was out early. Dhruv Jurel showed some pace in the end but his start was slow. RR scored 47 runs in the last 4 overs but overall could score only 173 runs in total. And on top of that fielding was also weak. Kohli and Salt missed catches on 4 different occasions. Salt was dropped 3 times, Kohli also completed his 100th fifty and took the match to the finish.
RCB – Balanced team, strong batting depth
RCB’s advantage is that their batting depth is up to 8 numbers. In this match, they did not need the lower order. RCB bowlers also played well – Krunal Pandya bowled tight and Yash Dayal dismissed Riyan Parag at a crucial moment. Hazlewood also kept the batsmen under pressure, and due to this Jaiswal had to play a tough shot and got out.
RR will have to rethink strategy
RR’s setup should be perfect in every match, only then they can win. But in T20, perfection is difficult, a little margin for error is required. As long as their middle order and approach is not aggressive, it is difficult for them to win.
Final Score:
RR – 173/5 (Jaiswal 75, Jurel 35),RCB – 175/1 (Salt 6, Kohli 62)
