Retro vs HIT 3 Box Office Day 1 Review: Suriya and Nani's Gig Clash, Which Was Heavy|

The cinematic Dhamaka of 2025 has begun, and two big South films released on May 1st have dominated the box office. Fans of both Suriya’s “Retro” and Nani’s “HIT The Third Case” welcomed both films in the theatres from early morning, but which was heavier on the opening day? Let’s see…

Retro Box Office Collection Day 1

Suriya’s film Retro has made a dhamakedar start, fans were seen lining up outside the theatres in the vast areas of Chennai early in the morning. According to early estimates of industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 13.22 crore on day 1. Tamil audience is 79.91% and Telugu version is 39.25%. Retro got support of 924 shows in Chennai, due to which both occupancy and collections were impressive.

HIT 3 Box Office Collection Day 1

Nani Starrer HIT: The Third Case also started well, but is lagging behind Retro. The film has so far earned Rs 11.96 crore on day 1. Tamil audience is 47.08% and Telugu audience is 85.97%. Hyderabad gave more support to Nani’s film, and the craze for HIT 3 was clearly more among the Telugu audience. In Chennai, HIT 3 got only 69 shows, which was very less compared to the retro.
