Rohit and SKY’s Dhamaka, MI defeated CSK by 9 wickets, created pressure in the playoffs race|

In Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Kings by 9 wickets on the basis of Rohit Sharma’s 76* runs in 45 balls and Surakumar Yadav’s 68* runs in 30 balls. This was MI’s 3rd consecutive win and with this win MI has come to the 6th position in the points table. CSK’s struggle continues, 6th defeat in 8 matches.
Turning point of the match
CSK scored only 70 runs in the first 10 overs, but MI added 93 runs during this period. MI’s bowlers did not give much freedom to CSK’s batsmen in the powerplay and middle overs. And later Rohit and Surya made a partnership of 114* runs in just 54 balls and chased the target in 15.4 overs, at the loss of only 1 wicket.

Shik Rasheed and Rachin Ravindra started well but were not getting any break. Rachin got out in the 4th over. And then came debutant Ayush Mhatre who made 32 runs in 15 balls and kept the momentum going, but CSK could make only 48 in 6 overs.

Mhatre and Rasheed both got out in the 7th and 8th overs. Shivam Dube and Jadeja tried to handle the situation. Dube bowled shorts, but the run rate was slow.
