Salt Lake Stadium’s Hungama – Mohun Bagan created a blast by winning the ISL Final|

Some sounds are not just heard, they are felt. And if you have not seen Mohun Bagan’s match amidst packed crowd in some Salt Lake Stadium, then you cannot really understand the “noise“. On Saturday night in the ISL 2025 final, that noise came back and how.
59,000+ fans in the stadium… but a slight disappointment in the beginning
There were 59,112 fans in the stadium. Almost all were Mohan Bagan fans. But for the first 70 minutes, Mohan Bagan could not do anything special. Bengaluru FC had them in full control and the possession was also only 26% near the bagan. Chances were low, final passes were weak and the crowd was just in a “come on, do something” vibe and then something unexpected happened…
An own goal changed everything… and one hand turned the game around
As the 70th minute approached, BFC’s Alberto Rodriguez accidentally put the ball into his own goal and there was complete silence in the stadium. But then, Jason Cummings’ cross hit Sana Singh’s hand – the referee gave a penalty without thinking, and Jason Cummings calmly scored a penalty in the bottom corner and after that the stadium literally shook. Fireworks were going on inside and outside the stadium, even BFC owner Parth Jindal tweeted fireworks were falling on him.
Maclaren’s magic moment in extra time
The game was 1-1 and extra time had started. Fans were a little quiet… then Jamie Maclaren did something which became memorable. In the 96th minute the ball came to him. A soft touch, a sharp turn, and a goal between Gurpreet’s feet. There was such a screaming roar in the whole stadium which you cannot feel on TV.
Bagan’s style – stay silent, but the finish is deadly
Bagan plays in such a way that nothing special is happening throughout the match, but when the moment comes, they strike with perfection. Ashique Kuruniyan, Sahal Abdul Samad, Greg Stewart – all of them were late game subs, but they put full energy into the field. This is the depth and stardom that Mohun Bagan has.
Final Score: Mohun Bagan 2-1 Bengaluru FC
Cup, League, everything went to Mohun Bagan. When local hero Subhash Bose lifted the trophy, the entire Salt Lake stadium echoed again. And when you leave from there, your ears are still echoing with that noise. The noise, there’s truly nothing like it.
