Sikandar Movie Review: Salman Khan’s cheap acting and another useless film|

Salman Khan is now just a bomb hero. He has lost his passion for acting and every director has to think of a new way to work with him. After Kabir Kahan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, he has not regained his old charm in any of his films. Radhe, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3 – all have the same old, cheap acting. And now Sikandar has also been included in the same list.
If Salman is not putting in efforts in his movies, then why should a critic put in efforts? Writing the same things again and again also gets boring. It’s a simple matter, stop all this, think of something new, and then retire!
Plot of the story
The film begins with Sanjay Rajkot’s (Salman Khan) fathering the spoilt son of a leader who was harassing girls in a fight. Then it is revealed that Sanjay, who is also called Sikandar, is the king of Rajkot and loves his people a lot. He also has a private army and he himself fathers the enemies.
In one scene, one of his employees comes and tells that the weapons he sold were used in a terrorist attack in Punjab. Anyone hearing this confession will be shocked. Salman only comes out to fight in hero mode. That’s because he had to add an action scene. Logic went wrong!
Rashmika Mandanna: Another Wasted Character
Mandanna is just Shagun’s Maidan in the film. Whenever she enters, her “ghost voice” starts to be heard in the background. This is a useless attempt at foreshadowing. Remember director Murugadoss’s Ghajini movie? There was a dead fiancé angle in that too. Social people would have already understood that even Mandan’s character will not survive.
Salman’s effortless acting
The second half of the film shifts to Mumbai where Sikandar searches for the recipients of his wife’s donated organs. Have you ever seen anyone doing this? After Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman is only trying to project the image of a good person, but nothing in the name of acting.
In one scene he is seen watching the cough of slum children, in another he is seen motivating gym bros and sometimes he is seen promoting the papad business. Meaning, did you come to watch a film or a documentary on social service? And when the action scenes come, it becomes absolutely clear that Salman is out of the action cinema era. Even a big studio like YRF could not save him in Tiger 3, so what is Sikandar?
South’s flop entry in Bollywood
Murugadoss came to Bollywood from South with Ghajini, but after that no film showed the same magic. Sikandar is another example of how this formula of Hindi remakes or inspired films is failing.
The dialogues in the film are weird, the dialogues of the actors are not fitting in their mouths and the screenplay is so random that everything is happening without any logic. South cinema has a solid impact, but Bollywood experiments like Sikander just make it a cheap version.
Now stop it Salman!
Sultan was released in 2016, which was his last good film. After that, there was a line of flop and cringe movies. Even some of Salman’s hardcore fans got bored after watching this film. Meaning, when even the hardcore devotees get tired, then understand that the matter is serious.
At the end of the film, Salman Khan sings “Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh”, and it seems like the right moment. Yes brother, this story should end now. It started in 1988, now stop it! And I don’t want another useless edition of Dastaan e Salman.
Final Verdict: Skip brother!
Rating: 1.5/5
If you are a true fan of Salman, then watch old movies.
If you want to watch a good action film, then watch some other hero’s.
If you like logic, then stay away from this film.
