The Last of Us Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Ellie – Dina's love, pregnancy, and the threat of zombies|

Even when the world has ended and zombies are in hell, some TV cliches never change. Like if a girl suddenly vomits in an episode, then by the next episode it is confirmed who is pregnant. Exactly the same happens with Dina this time. In the last episode, when Dina saw the dead bodies, her reaction was a bit too strong. Now I understand because in this episode, who checks by taking a pregnancy test from a drugstore in Seattle… and all of them come out positive.

But Dina doesn’t tell Ellie anything immediately. Dina remains silent until both of them reach a safe place after escaping the attacks of wolves and zombies. When Dina finally reveals that she is pregnant, the relationship between her and Ellie becomes even deeper.

Next level of Ellie and Dina’s bonding

The connection between these two is shown to be even stronger in this episode. Ellie’s sarcasm and Dina’s quick wit are a perfect pair. Ellie’s line: “Shout if something tries to kill you,” and Dina’s reply: “That’s the plan.” A very badass couple vibes. The music store scene was also super emotional, where Ellie sang Take On for Dina in an acoustic version. It was such a soulful moment that even the sunshine was casting a soft light on both of them.

Action Packed Sequences: War with Wolves and Zombies

Entering an old TV studio in Seattle, Ellie and Dina discover that the Wolves’ base is not empty, but full of creepy corpses and cult symbols on the walls. Then there is a dangerous encounter, where the Wolves come searching for them. After escaping, the Whos reach an old transit tunnel, where there is a massive attack of infected zombies. Ellie’s action sequence here was also explosive – she allowed herself to be bitten so that she could save Dina.

Ellie Reveals Her Immunity

When Dina thinks Ellie is infected, she decides to shoot her. But Ellie stops her and tells her who is immune. There is an intense, emotional moment when Ellie says: “I would die for you I would. But that is not what just happened.”

Introducing Isaac Dixon: A New Dangerous Character

At the beginning of the episode, we meet Isaac Dixon, previously a FEDRA soldier, now the ruthless leader of the Wolves. Jeffrey Wright has portrayed this role with a brilliant rareness. Isaac interrogates a Seraphite prisoner. There is intense dialogue, psychological warfare, and a hot pan torture scene in this part. The ongoing war and ideology clash between Seraphites and Wolves is becoming the major theme of the seacon.
