GT put a full stop to Mumbai Indiana’s 6 match winning streak with a tremendous and thrilling last ball win. There was no dearth of twists in this rain hit encounter of IPL 2025, but GT kept its composure till the end and stole the victory on the final ball.

Rain and DLS Drama

Rain played a big role in the match. When it rained for the first time, MI had the upper hand, but the match continued. The second time when the rain stopped, GT came ahead according to DLS. But this 4 overs proved to be the turning point of the match when GT fell from 107/2 to 132/6. Bumrah got MI back in the match by dismissing Gill and Shahrukh Khan.

15 runs were needed in the last over. But Deepak Chahar made mistakes of length and no ball, and on the last ball the chance of run out was missed and GT won.

Powerplay: 56/2 MI started well but GT missed three catches. Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav both got one chance each. Siraj got Ryan Rickelton out and Arshad Khan got Rohit Sharma out.

Middle Overs: The spinners turned the game around for GT. After Jacks Yadav’s partnership of 71 runs, Kishore got Yadav out and Rashid got Jacks out. MI lost 4 wickets for 16 runs in 19 balls.

Death Overs: Corbin Bosch hit some big hits but MI were stuck at 155/8. All GT bowlers contributed collective bowling effort.

Powerplay: Trent Boult got Sai Sudharsan out early. GT made only 29 runs. MI deliberately slowed down the tempo keeping the rain in mind.

Middle Overs: Gill and Buttler made a partnership of 72 runs. Rutherford also hit big in one over of Will Jacks. At the time of rain break GT were 7 runs ahead on DLS.

Death Overs: Bumrah turned the match in MI’s favour by dismissing Gill and Shahrukh. But boundaries from Tewatia and Coetzee in the last over changed the mood of the match.
