But it turned chaotic outside the venue as fans were injured. The crowd outside Gate 16 got involved in pushing each other, due to which some fans got injured outside. Injured fans were treated at the gate by DDCA security and police. One of the fans needed a bandage as his leg was injured. One of the security guards also got injured in controlling the situation.
Security officers make full efforts
Delhi’s cricket administrators do not anticipate such a long turnout. There were only three gates including gate 16 which were open for the fans. Looking at the crowd, additional gates had to be opened.
|Fans had started queuing near gate 16 and 17, which are close to Delhi Metro Station. Fans were waiting outside the gate since 8 am. Currently Gautam Gambir Stand was intended to be accessible.

When the gate finally opened, security officers made a concerted effort to control the crowd and provide aid to the injured. There was very little security at the gate. Jo ki Delhi & District Cricket Association reorderly mandating that fans carry a copy of their Aadhar card, many kept photocopy centers near the stadium for their documents.

There was confusion even after fans entered the venue. Many school and college going youngsters left their bags near Gate 16, who requested security. Many of those who went to the stand next to the Gauta Gambhir Stand told us that they were not allowed and bags collected.
After that Delhi won the toss and opted to bow, many fans wanted to leave, knowing that Kohli wouldn’t bat anytime soon. No one appears to have been allowed to leave the stand.
This is between fans and security officers, who are frustrated with the situation. After the security officials eventually allowed a few fans to leave the stand and receive their bags from the area near Gate 16.
