India A dominated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by seven wickets in their Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 match on Monday. Chosen to bowl first, the team led by Tilak Varma bowled out the UAE for just 107 runs, with pacer Rasikh Salam Dar taking three wickets. India A then chased down the target in a swift 10.5 overs, with opener Abhishek Sharma smashing 58 runs off only 24 balls. This victory marked India A’s second win in the tournament, securing their spot in the semi-finals.
Besides the low-scoring chase, the match also captured attention due to Ayush Badoni’s remarkable aerial catch. On the final delivery of the 15th over bowled by Ramandeep Singh, UAE batter Jawadullah struck the ball towards long-on. Badoni reacted quickly, diving to his right to make a stunning catch, sending Jawadullah back to the pavilion for just 1 run.

Earlier on Saturday, India A had achieved a thrilling seven-run victory against their rivals, Pakistan.
In the match against the UAE, seamer Rasikh Salam made a significant impact by dismissing three batters in his first over, leaving the UAE at 40 for 5 during the power play. Salam was named Player of the Match for his impressive bowling figures of 3/15. Ramandeep Singh also contributed with two wickets for just seven runs, helping to bowl out the UAE with over three overs remaining.
Abhishek Sharma’s explosive innings included five fours and four sixes, while skipper Tilak Varma scored 21 runs off 18 balls but missed out on a bigger score.
India A will face Oman in their final group stage match on Wednesday in Al Amerat.
