Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: Debate on Sean Williams’ shot, Assistant Coach gives support|

Zimbabwe’s assistant coach Dion Ebrahim supported star batsman Sean Williams after he lost his wicket by playing a risky sweep shot on the first day of the Chattogram Test against Bangladesh. Williams has scored back to back fifties in this tour and his valuable knock of 67 runs took the team to 178/4 before the collapse.
But when he played a paddle sweep against Nayeem Hasan, he was out and Zimbabwe finished the day at 227/9. Ebrahim said in the press conference:
“I am not disappointed with his shot. Williams is a world class player against spin, and sweep is one of his trusted shots. The execution was a little wrong, but the decision was not wrong.”
Nick Welch got cramps, retires hurt
Zimbabwe opener Nick Welch also made a strong start by scoring 54 runs but had to retire hurt due to severe cramps. Ebrahim told: “He had cramps in both his forearms and hamstrings. We gave him treatment, but after tea his condition got worse.”
We wanted 40-50 runs: Ibrahim
He said that he is a little disappointed with the score, but he is hopeful about the behaviour of the pitch: “We wanted 40-50 runs to be added. But the pitch was turning since the first session, so I am optimistic.”

Ibrahim said that Zimbabwe has taken an extra spinner because such conditions were expected in the Chattogram. “The game is still in the balance until both teams play the first innings. The pitch is turning, and our bowlers can create pressure.”
Will Zimbabwe be able to make a comeback?
With a spin friendly pitch and tight bowling, Zimbabwe will try their best to come back in the match. Now all eyes are on Masekesa’s performance.
